As a Realtor, surprises are part of the job, but some moments stand out more than others. Recently, while showing a home in a retirement community, I encountered one of those “What on earth is that?” situations that I just have to share.
As I toured the property, I noticed a massive generator sitting in the side yard. Naturally curious, I asked the listing agent about its purpose. The story behind it was both amusing and a bit unbelievable. It turned out that the previous owner had been convinced by a door-to-door salesman that in Arizona’s scorching heat, her cats wouldn’t survive if the power went out without this generator. Talk about a sales pitch!
