Hi there! If you didn’t already know, my journey into real estate wasn’t exactly a straight line. In fact, it started in a completely different place with music!
For over 20 years, I led church music, working with choirs, playing the piano, & singing. I grew up in Chandler, Arizona, & majored in music at ASU. For me, music was always about connection. Whether it was leading a congregation in worship or getting lost in a beautiful melody, music has a unique way of bringing people together.
How Music Shaped My Real Estate Career
You might wonder, “How does a background in music relate to real estate?” Well, the way I see it, music & real estate have more in common than you’d think. Both are about understanding people’s emotions & helping them feel connected to something bigger.
In my music career, I spent years guiding people through emotional experiences. In real estate, I guide clients through one of the biggest emotional & financial decisions of their lives. Buying or selling a home can feel overwhelming, much like learning a new piece of music or performing in front of a crowd. But just like in music, with the right approach & support, everything comes together beautifully.
The Transition from Music to Real Estate
After years of leading in music, I started feeling the pull to try something new, something where I could still use my ability to connect with people on a personal level. Real estate gave me the chance to do that. I loved the idea of helping families find a home where they could create their own memories.
Of course, that transition wasn’t without challenges. But in music, you learn persistence, discipline, & the value of practice all of which are critical in real estate too. You have to keep working hard, stay positive, & push through the tough times. I always tell my clients that real estate is like learning a new instrument; it can feel tough at first, but with the right guidance, you can hit all the right notes.
The Journey Forward
Even though my full time focus is on real estate now, music is still a part of my life. I still play the piano & sing on occasion. Though, if I’m being honest, my kids have heard enough of my tunes over the years! (They’re probably ready for a break). Ha!
I couldn’t be more grateful for the opportunity to blend my two passions: connecting with people & helping them achieve their goals.
