Real estate commissions…the litigation surrounding real estate commissions….
I’ll be honest…I’m a little sick of hearing about these lawsuits, especially by people who don’t know what they’re talking about. Ultimately this all comes down to transparency within the industry. In Arizona, we have separated out the commissions ever since I became a Realtor. The seller pays the listing brokerage X% and the listing brokerage pays the buyer’s brokerage X%. I think part of the issue here is that seller’s aren’t reading the contract they sign & listing agents aren’t taking the time to explain the contract to the sellers. I think as a whole, our industry needs to do better for the consumer & explain things clearly!
